Support high quality healthcare and consumer satisfaction by improving NP visibility among consumers and professional stakeholders and offering APN education and professional development opportunities.

  • Information to colleagues & stakeholders about benefits of supporting the Consensus Model and APRN Compact
  • NP empanelment and reimbursement
  • Scope of Practice issues
  • Time sensitive issues affecting NP practice
  • Collaborate with other healthcare organizations in lobbying efforts for health policy issues

Promote a proactive health policy agenda that improves access to healthcare, decreases healthcare costs and supports APN practice

  • enhance and support Health Policy education for Arizona NPs
  • update & maintain website information on lobbying and health policy issues
  • support empanelment, neutral provider language and access to NP providers (see also initiative #2)
  • Educate nurse colleagues, chapter 9 members & APRN stakeholders about benefits of supporting the NCSBN Consensus and Compact models
  • Provide support in creating and passing legislation for full practice authority in Arizona for all 4 APRN specialties: Certified Nurse Midwives (CNM), Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS) Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA) & NURSE Practitioners (NP)
  • attend stakeholder meetings and network with hospital based NPs to advocate for updated hospital bylaw changes that include APNs on medical staff
  • develop & enhance relationships with legislators, insurers, stakeholders
  • support and subsidize NP Lobby Day
  • appoint Executive officers and/or expert members to stakeholder committees and boards
  • create NP brochure to educate stakeholders
