The Arizona Nurse Practitioner Council provides members opportunities to network and promote their services. What are other ways that a new nurse practitioner graduate would benefit from membership? What might they like most about your organization?
The primary benefit of belonging to a major professional organization is that there is paid staff support to promote the profession, represent us in various environments and to keep members informed about issues of concern to nurses. The staff support also enables the organization to offer workshops and other CE activities through maintaining the accreditation function of the organization. Members that pay dues support the work of a professional lobbyist who represents us at the state legislature where decisions are made every day while the legislature is in session that directly impact our practice and access to healthcare for our patients. With the support of the AzNA staff, AzNPC sponsors an annual conference for the state in Flagstaff every July. Being an AzNA member connects the nurse as a member to the national nursing organization the American Nurses Association (ANA). As an AzNA member, one would be entitled to enjoy all the benefits available to ANA members.
